Bridge buttresses, Friockheim
The Arbroath and Forfar Railway crossed the road between the towns here. Friockheim was a busy junction once as the original route between Dundee and Aberdeen ran through here. The coastal route came later with the Tay Bridge and the bridges at Montrose.

Tollbar stone
This stone is on the A932 just to the west of the A933 at Friockheim. It must have some significance as it is so large and is not a gatepost. There may be a toll house nearby but none of the cottages opposite had that name. The four metal mileposts that are still in situ along this road to Forfar were cast by G Anderson & Co of Arbroath a company which appears on the Scottish ironwork website.
