Bervie Chipper
The original Bervie Chipper, famous for its fish and chips, and as popular as ever. I was a bit surprised to read that there are places elsewhere using the same name but not connected - that says something about the renown of the original. See http://www.theberviechipper.co.uk/

Cutty Sark Statue, Inverbervie
Inverbervie is the birthplace of Hercules Linton, designer of the Cutty Sark, one of the fastest tea clippers - and named after the young witch in the poem "Tam o'Shanter" by Robbie Burns. Behind are typical red sandstone cottages for Angus.

Plaque on old bridge, Inverbervie
This plaque gives information about the three bridges at the east end of Inverbervie. I had no idea about the first bridge and went looking for it only to realise I had photographed it in a previous picture.

Hercules Linton Memorial
Full-scale replica of the figurehead on the clipper 'Cutty Sark', named after the young female witch in Robert Burns' poem 'Tam O'Shanter'. She is depicted a moment after pulling the tail off Tam's gray mare Meg on the Brig o'Doon. The memorial was erected in 1997 in memory of the ship's designer, Hercules Linton, who was born in 'Bervie' in 1837. The house where he was born and died still stands in the town's market square. The ship was built in Dumbarton in 1869 and is now preserved at Greenwich.
