Mercury Lone in St Cyrus
Spelling of 'Lone' can also (more usually?) be 'Loan' - formerly a lane or cattle track.

St. Cyrus Primary School
This is where I served as 'dominie' from 1968-71. The school itself was handily situated near the cliff-side nature reserve with its superb flora and fauna - a delight for pupils and visitors alike.

Montrose and Bervie Railway
A branch line, running up the coast, often beneath the cliffs. There were plans to complete the route to Aberdeen to provide a rival service, but there was no construction of what would have been a wasteful duplication. The service to Inverbervie could never have been a serious revenue earner. Here the trackbed passes through St Cyrus.
