Dartford, DA1 - Livingstone Hospital
The absence of heavy traffic on this stretch of East Hill allowed the capture of a long shot of this section of the A226 with The Livingstone Hospital to the immediate left and "The Net Church" beyond it. The Welsh journalist and explorer Henry Morton Stanley,(1841-1904) - born John Rowlands - apparently laid the foundation stone for this cottage hospital on 21st April 1894. It is now run by the West Kent Primary Care Trust "for the care and rehabilitation of older patients recovering from illness or injury", having previously been a GP referral unit with a male ward, a female ward, x-ray facilities and a physiotherapy service. Previously there was also a separate maternity unit to the rear.

Dartford, DA1 - Livingstone Hospital vicinity
A Christian Church known as "The Net Church" appears to be using this building that sits at the side of the top of East Hill (the A226). In the late 60s it was home to an Elim Pentecostal Church. The building is adjacent to The Livingstone Hospital and the cars in the picture are in the hospital's car park.

Dartford, DA1 - Livingstone Hospital
One side of The Livingstone Hospital with the A226 (East Hill) in the distance. The Welsh journalist and explorer Henry Morton Stanley,(1841-1904) - born John Rowlands - laid the foundation stone for this cottage hospital on 21st April 1894.
