Nantwich, Peacock Inn
Public house on Crewe Road; central counter with eating and drinking areas in various spaces around it; wood-fired stoves, recycled wooden beams, garden. Cask ale on offer at my visit: St. Austell Tribute, Sharp's Atlantic. Owned by Vintage Inns; was once Ashfield House.

Balloon in a basket
A hot air balloon and basket all packed up waiting in the car park of "The Fleece" Image hoping for the right weather to launch from a nearby field. Alas we didn't get the chance to get airborne on this attempt nor on several other subsequent occasions.

The Peacock, Crewe Road
A pleasant Victorian/Edwardian red-brick pub just outside the Nantwich parish boundary on the east; now also now a motel in a chain. Around and behind the pub is open land: pasture, football pitch, waste ground and a market garden. The line of electricity pylons that crosses this gridsquare N-S is visible on the right
