Passing under the main line
This is where the Biddulph Valley Way, formerly the Biddulph Valley Railway, passes under the main line between Stockport and Crewe. Out of sight to the right is another arch, visible in Raymond Knapman's picture Image, through which Brookhouse Lane passes. There is a benchmark cut into the buttress on the right, pictured in http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2169063 .

The end of the spur
At one time this path was the route taken by a spur line from the former Biddulph Valley Railway to its junction with the present mainline running from Stockport to Crewe, out of sight on the left of this picture. The end of the path in the distance marks the rough point of where it was, but no signs of it remain today.

The old railway bridge
This old bridge used to carry the spur line from the Biddulph Valley Railway over Brookhouse Lane. The spur would have climbed from near the canal aqueduct (Image) on its way to join the mainline between Congleton and Macclesfield.

Seat on the bridge
This seat is on Image and has a lovely view towards The Cloud across the fields. But because there has been a problem with people throwing their rubbish off the bridge and onto the road below, this seat is under threat of removal (Image).

The problem with litter louts
Firmly stapled to the back of the Image is this notice, it would be a shame to lose this seat as it has a lovely view.
