North edge of Glasshouse Wood with BMX jump
The contorted beech trees on the left have perhaps resulted from coppicing - a practice that beech does not tolerate well. Beside the trees is a BMX jump, hand-thrown from the local red marl dug from a pit visible beyond. There was a whole stretch of more serious jumps, and pits, further along but they did not photograph well.
