The (former) Centre of England Stores, Meriden
Once trading as The Centre of England Stores in the mid 1970s when it was Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101342860-centre-of-england-stores-meriden#.XaNdk-hKjIU & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1342860, and more recently as a Spar shop Image The building, much altered, dates at its core from the 17th century, and has a timber frame construction.

Premises adjoining the Centre of England Stores
The title is pretty much the description given to this 17th century house, timber framed, which formerly had a role as a shop fronting onto the main road next to Image and is now the local library. It was Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101031833-premises-adjoining-centre-of-england-stores-on-east-meriden#.Xdpw--j7TIU & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1031833 in 1976. The frontage is of relatively little historical interest compared to the rear wing here.

National Cyclists' Memorial, Meriden
"TO THE LASTING MEMORY OF THOSE CYCLISTS WHO DIED IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1919"
A plaque affixed to the other side remembers cyclists killed in the Second World War.
This memorial was unveiled on the 21st May 1921 by the Lord Chancellor, Lord Birkenhead, in the presence of over 20,000 people. The obelisk of Cornish granite remembers all cyclists killed in the war - cycling was an enormously popular sport and recreation in the early 20th century - not just those who served as scouts and messengers in the Cycle Corps. The Cyclists' War Memorial, Meriden
Not the first picture of this rather imposing obelisk on Geograph, and probably not the last either. It was erected in 1920 as a WWI memorial to the cyclists killed in that war, and updated in 1963 to add a tribute to those of the 2nd World War.
