St Oswald's Church, Jardine Crescent, Tile Hill, west Coventry ? interior and structure
While the outside of the church is austere, with the character of a hangar, the inside is light and light in spirit, lofty, enlivened and warmed by coloured and softer elements. Random coloured bands on the underside of the roof are a counterpoint to the rhythm of the cantilevered beams that support it. Their smoothness is a contrast to the no-fines concrete of the wall panels. The pendant light shades are each suspended almost invisibly by three wires from the roof while the catenary of the white electric cable from the wall appears at first glance to be the support for the lamp

On the left is the community hall, an extension of the original vestry and storage, as I understand it. The bell tower that completes the composition is out-of-shot, right. The oak trees make a wonderful contrast with the building – rich and natural against austere and man-made.
