Pair of boats, Grand Union Canal, Long Itchington
A pair of full-length narrowboats below bridge 24 on the Grand Union Canal near Long Itchington. Although both these boats were used to carry retail coal for many years, they do not date back to the canal's commercial heyday: both are comparatively modern boats having been built at Braunston in the 1980s.

Grand Union Canal: Bridge Number 24: New Bridge
New Bridge it may be, but the 1887 Edition of the large scale Ordnance Survey mapping shows a crossing of the canal here, and by the time that the 1905 Edition was published it already had its current day moniker. Today it provides vehicle access off Stockton Road to various canal facilities on the south side of the canal.
