Buildings by Birmingham Road, Haseley
The buildings in the distance, seen from Firs Lane, are on either side of the Birmingham Road A4177. There are new houses, a cottage, and the rear of the Falcon Inn. The building near the camera was a brick and timber barn to the north of Haseley House, the old rectory. It was converted to a cottage in the past and is currently the Haseley Coach House Motel. Newland Wood is on the horizon, right.

The Falcon Inn, Haseley, from the north
'Restaurant, Country Pub, Hotel' proclaims the sign. Beside the A4177 Birmingham Road, the impression is of a destination pub with capacity as a venue for functions, hinted at on the right in
Image I have never been to The Falcon and have no connection with it.

Beyond the beans ? Haseley
The view is from the Birmingham Road A4177. Haseley is a scatter of buildings, typical of Arden. From left to right: the Church of St Mary the Virgin, the parish church, then Haseley Coach House B&B and Haseley House; they are on Firs Lane. On the right edge of the photo is the single-storey back of The Falcon pub on the Birmingham Road; to its left is a sizeable cottage to the rear of the pub.

Haseley House, Firs Lane
The mid-18th century Haseley House was the rectory to Haseley church, which is just over the gridline to the north. The rectory was enlarged in 1785 by Dr Samuel Parr, chaplain to Queen Caroline. He was a well-known and much-loved social and intellectual figure in Warwick and Regency Leamington. The high thick holly hedge on the right may be an ancient feature.

Church of St Mary the Virgin, Haseley
Little has changed since 2005. A section of fence is missing, out of shot, left, perhaps a casualty of large vehicle, narrow lane, sharp bend. The long shadow across the churchyard and over the chancel is cast by a Wellingtonia or Giant Redwood (Sequoiadendron giganteum) growing in a small plantation behind the camera, east of the old rectory
