Foggy morning, south Leamington ? small retail sheds, Tachbrook Park Drive
These outlets for building and plumbing supplies have sprung up on part of the old Queensway Trading Estate. Travis Perkins heads the entrance sign; I suspect all these companies are subsidiaries. The view is across Tachbrook Park Drive and a culverted brook on an old parish boundary.

Recent development along Queensway, Leamington
On the skyline, centre, is the upper floor of Queensway Court, flats specifically designed for the over-55s: see Image The white building in front of it is a convenient new Aldi supermarket. Partly visible is a Travis Perkins builders' merchant outlet, four small retail sheds accessed from Tachbrook Park Drive: Image All of this was built on the site of the derelict Queensway Trading Estate. Building site on the old Queensway Trading Estate, south Leamington
Under construction is an Aldi supermarket, shrewdly sited in a former council housing estate. The Queensway Trading Estate is being completely redeveloped. Queensway and its partner road Kingsway first appeared on an OS map of 1955. A gestation in the patriotic early 1950s is implied. The trading estate was probably laid out a little later although it doesn't appear on maps until 1972-4. With Queensway it runs right up to the town boundary. A Traffic Plan of the 1960s refers to established industry and businesses in the area. The view is across the car park of the two-store Shires Gate retail park.

New Aldi store, Queensway, Leamington
On the site of the former Queensway Trading Estate. Apartments and houses are under construction on most of the rest of the run-down site. With a large new Morrisons as well, Leamington and Warwick might seem oversupplied with supermarkets – but there are more dwellings being squeezed in. The view is from the Curry's-Mothercare car park off Tachbrook Park Drive, in south Leamington.
