St Bartholomew, Binley
Quaint little church dominated by the encircling conifers. It dates from 1771-73, paid for by the deep pockets of Lord Craven of Combe Abbey. The west front has a Tuscan doorcase under a bell tower with cupola. The listing says its design is "attributed to Robert Adam", probably on the basis of the interior, but it is definitely nothing more than an attribution, there is no evidence. Possibly designed by Henry Couchman and Capability Brown. Grade I listed.
