Former telephone box at Bretford
Many village telephone boxes no longer have a telephone but have found a new purpose, usually housing either a defibrillator or a book exchange; this is an example of the former. See Image from 14 years earlier, long before the conversion took place. The house behind, Oakdene, is of 15th century origin with later alterations and is grade II listed. It had recently been on the market for an asking price of £550,000 (the 'sold' sign can be seen through the windows of the telephone box).

Post box and former telephone box at Bretford
Post boxes and telephone boxes were often found adjacent to each other in villages but few of the telephone boxes continue to serve their original function. Here at Bretford the classic K6 box now houses a defibrillator and 'Bretford' has been substituted for 'Telephone' above the windows.
