The Old Lion, Harborough Magna
Somewhat obscured by a tangle of overhead cables, the popular Old Lion stands in a prominent position on the B4112 Rugby - Pailton Road. 'Lion' pubs are a common around here; as well as the 'Old Lion', there is the 'Golden Lion' at Easenhall and the 'White Lion' at Pailton. This pub was, in fact, once called the Golden Lion, but at some point the name was changed, presumably to distinguish it from its near neighbour. See also this 1940s view of the pub: http://www.search.windowsonwarwickshire.org.uk/engine/resource/default.asp?theme=908&originator=%2Fengine%2Ftheme%2Fdefault%2Easp&page=&records=&direction=&pointer=9165&text=0&resource=5971 .

The '585' number is long-established for this route and dates back to the time when it was operated by Midland Red, whose buses were once ubiquitous throughout the West Midlands.
