Help Out Mill - Odstone
A view of the top floor of the flour mill. Converted to roller mill in 1902.
Like the excellent example at Rowlsey the workings are never as simple as a typical corn mill with stones. There is a factory style mass of elevators, sieves and grading machines.
3rd floor: contains the tops of the elevators with access to the hoppers below. Roller mill air suction fan and extractor. Also several other machines, namely 4 dressers of different types, an oat clipper and a cockle cylinder.

Help Out Mill - Odstone
This is a nice set of stones, not used in at least 60/70 years plus. There were once three under driven stones here, one remains complete. The hole in the floor towards the end of the room gives a view of the turbine.

2nd floor: grain hoppers and sack hoist flaps, with 6 elevators and pulleys. A number of specialised machines also survive on this floor all associated with the roller mill cycle, namely 2 centrifugal dressers and various scalpers and sifters.

Help-Out Mill Restaurant
The building on the right is a pleasant restaurant that is open Saturday evenings and Sunday lunchtimes. It is next to a former watermill with water turbine powered roller plant as well as traditional stones. This mill is a veritable time capsule having been left largely as it was when it closed in 1970. If you wish to see it you will probably need to take a party for lunch first. The River Sence is in the foreground.
