Some kind of a musical event is seemingly planned for Shelton Square. The square is set amongst the modern buildings of the redeveloped city centre. Coventry is a large city in the West Midlands, on the River Sherbourne. It is some 16 miles southeast of Birmingham and 85 miles northwest of London. There is evidence of occupation earlier, but the present settlement grew around the abbey of St Mary, founded in 1043, and Coventry became an important medieval city. Over the centuries the principal industries have been weaving, watch making, cycle manufacturing and the production of motor vehicles. The city centre has been almost entirely rebuilt following bombing damage in WWII and includes a new cathedral built in 1962.

This relief by Alma Ramsey, installed in 1952, depicts Sir Guy of Warwick slaying the mythical Dun Cow of Dunsmore Heath, complete with fleeing wench in the background. Netting protects them all from marauding pigeons.

This plaque is almost hidden by the trees in Image It omits to mention the wholesale remodelling of the street and the rest of the city centre following the destruction wrought by the Blitz in 1940.

One of the worst examples of post-war architecture in Coventry.

This sculpture of Sir Guy and the Dun Cow by Alma Ramsey is mounted on the archway above the pavement between Bull Yard and Shelton Square. It was originally located on the north side of Broadgate House.
