Another gas lantern in a front garden!
This house on Coleman's Stairs Road is another one to have a gas lantern in its front garden! Although, as you can see, it has an ordinary light bulb fitted instead of the original gas filament. Coincidentally, this is just around the corner from the previous installation (shown in Image) and was also taken looking northeast.

Victorian gas lantern, this time on a private road
Coleman's Stairs Road after the ramp down to the sea front is privately owned and so is lit with these Victorian gas lanterns (or modern replicas), albeit with modern light bulbs rather than gas filaments fitted and mounted on plain modern columns rather than those with ladder bars specially designed for gas lanterns. Interesting Plasterwork on a Tudor House in Birchington
This exquisite Tudor house can be found on the corner of Spencer Road and the private road, Winston Court. It has a form of Italian plasterwork known as stucco on its rear. View taken looking north-north west from Spencer Road.

Victorian gas lantern in a front garden on Cross Road
Birchingtonians seem to love having Victorian gas lanterns in their front gardens - this is one of three houses I've seen which have them. This is on Cross Road in Epple Bay - I just hope the owners don't mind me putting this on here!
