Coleman's Stairs Road after the ramp down to the sea front is privately owned and so is lit with these Victorian gas lanterns (or modern replicas), albeit with modern light bulbs rather than gas filaments fitted and mounted on plain modern columns rather than those with ladder bars specially designed for gas lanterns.
