Facing out to sea, the row of houses in Wave Crescent (an attractive name in its own right) have a very pretty series of marine-based motifs below each of the main windows. Different colours help to pick them out and add to the seaside flavour.

Island Wall, Whitstable
With Wilks Way on the right, named in honour of Anne Wilkes, a local activist for paths and greens in East Kent and a founder member of Kent Wildlife Trust. She died in 2012 aged 93.
