Danger at White Cliffs
The art deco house at the north end of St Margaret's Bay which was once the home of actor and composer Noel Coward, and later author Ian Fleming. It was called White Cliffs when Noel Coward was there, although the map now calls it Mermaid Cottage, which seems unlikely. Just beyond the house a large landslip has recently demolished a big chunk of the cliff, which must be unnerving to whoever lives here now.

Scene at St Margaret's Bay
At the end of March, a large section of chalk cliff gave way at St Margaret's Bay - see http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2298868/Huge-section-White-Cliffs-Dover-falls-sea-just-yards-row-beach-houses.html In this view, standing on the green next to the promenade, the pristine whiteness of the chalk face left behind is apparent in the distance. The house ahead nearest the rock fall was formerly owned by James Bond's creator Ian Fleming - see http://www.007magazine.co.uk/fleming/kentish01.htm and before him by Noel Coward. Despite its famous associations even James Bond might be a little wary living there now.
