End of the line on Wigmore Road
The brickwork on the right is the remains of a bridge which carried the old East Kent Light Railway which served Tilmanstone colliery. A small section (~2 miles) of the railway has been preserved as the East Kent Railway, this is the Northern end of the preserved track.

Looking east from Terrace Road
Towards the industrial buildings on the site of the former Tilmanstone Colliery. The green line of vegetation, along the edge of the field, marks the route of the former East Kent Light Railway. This was opened on 16 October 1916, closed to passengers on 1 November 1948 and closed completely on 1 March 1951.
