Old Milestone by High Street, Deal
Carved stone post by the UC road (was A258), in parish of Deal (Dover District), High Street, by St George's church, by brick wall, behind path, on West side of road. Deal number stone, erected by the Dover, Deal to Sandwich turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- 74 (To London) Milestone Society National ID: KE_LQ74

Ordnance Survey bolt on St George's Church
Partially concealed Ordnance Survey bolt on east face (north-east corner) of St George's Church, Deal. This bench mark was established in 1851 during the First primary levelling of England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 18.306 feet above mean sea level (Liverpool datum). It was included as a side level on the London to Dover levelling line, Branch Levelling Mark No. 366(a).
