Walburton Road, Woodcote
Purley is accurately described as part of London's stockbroker belt, the roads, houses and views are some of the best this side of the river. It stretches across the North Downs which follow the A23 south past Coulsdon.

Woodcote Park Avenue, Woodcote
A typical wide, leafy road in this posh suburb laid out by William Webb in 1901-20, although some are private and gated. Very large houses, though not particularly architecturally distinguished. Webb's idea was that gardens be designed first as "...the house is but the complement of the garden..." The houses are all well set back from the road, hence none is visible here!
