Mitcham: Jessop Place
High-class development close to Mitcham tram stop. The development's name has no connection with the well-known photographic firm, but relates to the talented civil engineer William Jessop, who laid out the trackbed for the Surrey Iron Railway, which once ran where the electric tramline is now.

Mitcham Tramlink stop - Wimbledon platform
Taken from the Mitcham Walk entrance. Tramlink follows the course of the former railway between Wimbledon and West Croydon closed in 1997. The former Mitcham railway station lay farther to the west in the top right-hand part of the picture.

Work at Mitcham Tram Stop
By late June 2012, Tramlink had doubled the track from just outside Mitcham Junction to Mitcham. As can be seen in this picture, some embankments had been excavated, with the remaining soil held in place by metal piles and timbers. The workmen were cutting metal mesh, to protect the pedestrian crossing point.
