Main line platforms at Mitcham Junction
These are the platforms at the original station built in 1868. Trains depart from the left-hand (up) platform to London Victoria and St Albans via London Blackfriars, and from the right-hand (down) platform for Sutton and Epsom. The Tramlink platforms are out of sight to the left.

View eastward, towards Sutton etc., also West Croydon: ex-LB&SCR Victoria/London Bridge - Sutton - Dorking - Horsham and Mid-Sussex line to Coast, junction with Wimbledon - West Croydon line. It is a Sunday afternoon in winter and my BMW 520 looks smart beside a deserted station. (Cf. Image]).

Mitcham Junction - frontage
The frontage of this station has not changed much over the years but looks tidier in 2017 than it has done in recent times. The station opened in 1868 and until 2000 had only two platforms. During 2000 two extra platforms were built to accommodate London Tramlink service from Wimbledon to Croydon and beyond. Services from London Victoria to Epsom and from St Albans to Sutton via London Blackfriars run from the original station.
