Whyteleafe: Level crossing
The ex-SER Caterham branch crosses the bottom of Whyteleafe Hill here. Trains run every half-hour in each direction, so the barriers have to be closed to road traffic four times each hour - and that is, during off-peak times.
Along the railway, Caterham is to the left, and Purley to the right.

Other Way Up Please
View across the roundabout on the A22 near to Whyteleafe station. When putting up flags its usually best to put them up the right way around. On the flagpole side of the Union flag, the broader white diagonal should be above the red diagonal, and the narrower beneath.
