The 'Red Deer', South Croydon, Surrey
For many years this handsome Victorian pub had stood proudly at the junction of Sanderstead Road and Brighton Road in South Croydon. The destination 'South Croydon, Red Deer' still appears on many buses short-working to this point, which is near the South Croydon bus garage.

Former Red Deer pub, South Croydon
The Red Deer pub has been converted to a local supermarket. Notice the statue of a red deer above the top window of the building, and the name "red deer" in the ironwork above the entrance door.

This fine Victorian public house occupies a commanding position at the junction of Sanderstead Road (B269, which is seen to the left) with Brighton Road (A23, which veers to the right here).

Bynes Road, South Croydon, Surrey
