Former Selhurst Grammar School for Boys
The original Selhurst Grammar School converted to Selhurst High School in 1970, closed in 1987, and re-opened when the Ingram School moved here under the confusing name of Selhurst High School. More recently, the school has specialised in Mathematics and Computing, but finally closed in 2008.
On the occasion of my visit, filming was taking place for "The Bill". A six part mini-series, of this popular programme, was broadcast in the summer of 2009. Very strange, seeing some of the classrooms for the first time in 36 years!
Harry Carpenter and Malcolm Muggeridge were "old boys" of this school.
