Tram No 2555, one of the six Stadler cars delivered to Tramlink, is approaching the stop in George Street. Tramlink has another four cars of this type on order. They are identical with cars running in Bergen, Norway.

See Image Receding from the camera, the car runs down the narrow George Street West, where it will pass the Whitgift Almshouses and then descend Crown Hill again. Altogether three circuits were made, and all went well. The Police seemed relieved that this new monster had not run amuck and taken the lives of innocent citizens.

Croydon: George Street, without a tram in sight
The trams come along George Street so frequently that it is unusual to be able to photograph the street without them. Here are seen the frontage, (or rather side-frontage) of Allder's, and in the distance, the NLA tower, or 'Wedding Cake'.
