Cut in the 15C. This is part of a verse and has been transcribed as: “a yong rewler wytles / a por ma spender havele / a riche ma yif nedele / an old ma lefft loveles / alle man rebold blameless / amen” The English language has changed since then!

Font, St Laurence's Church, Ridgewell
This is a recent remodelling of the 14C / 15C font. The font cover is of the 17C. The original pedestal has been restored and a new octagonal bowl made, by John Green of Ipswich. The symbols are A (alpha), the date 2003, omega, the CHI-RHO, a dove, three strands of water flow representing the Trinity, a baptismal shell, a gridiron (on which St Laurence was martyred).

Commemorative plaque, St Laurence's Church, Ridgewell
This commemorates a complete peal of bob major on five bells, with 5040 changes in 3 hrs 25 mins. Bell ringers certainly do not lack patience!

Church school, Church Lane, Ridgewell
This was built in 1967 to replace the National school of c.1865. It is a flat-roofed building typical of the sixties. The extension on the left was added in 1993 to provide a new foyer and office. Examples of the children's art work are fastened to the fence.
