Erected in the C19. It bears inscriptions "Ransomes Ipswich" and "This well was sunk and pump errected [sic] by voluntary contributions". See http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-114137-pump-at-the-junction-of-church-lane-and- for entry in British Listed Buildings
