The former Maltster's Arms, Willingale, Essex
Another loss of a pub to the village, especially in view of its association with the WW2 bomber station nearby. See http://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/205361393. There are now no pubs in this quintessential Essex village. It's the end of the civilised world as we know it.

Fyfield Road, Willingale
The flags in the garden in addition to the Union Flags represented The Royal Navy, The Army, Air Force and Merchant Marine. (N.B I am not sure if the road has become Wood Lane by this point.)

The Street, Willingale, Essex
Showing St. Andrew's and All Saints church, which shares its churchyard with St Christopher's church, which is out of sight over the photographer's right shoulder. The picture is taken from the dividing line between the twin villages of Willingale Doe and Willingale Spain, both named after the Norman barons allocated the land after the conquest. Both parishes are now joined.

Fyfield Road, Willingale
A view along Fyfield Road as it heads out of the village of Willingale in Essex. The small blue sign attached to the signpost indicates that this road forms part of National Cycle Network route 1. This image was taken as the sun was setting at the end of a chilly but bright January day.
