On Hatfield Peverel station
The signals in the distance are a clue that the line is signalled for bi-directional running, actually on both tracks, although you can't tell that just looking in this direction.

Old Milepost by the B1137, The Street, Hatfield Peverill
Cast iron post by the B1137 (was A12), in parish of HATFIELD PEVEREL (BRAINTREE District), The Street, by layby, by the road, on South East side of road. Ransome iron casting, erected by the Chelmsford (Division of Essex First District) turnpike trust in the 19th century.
