Old Milestone by the B181, High Road, North Weald Bassett
Carved stone post by the B181, in parish of NORTH WEALD BASSETT (EPPING FOREST District), High Road, junction with Park Close, on wide grass verge, on South side of road. Erected by the Epping & Ongar turnpike trust in the 19th century.
Inscription reads:-

North Weald Bassett: B181 High Road with AEC Routemaster
The AEC Routemaster is ALD 966B, a preserved 1964 version running on a "339" service, but effectively on the shuttle between Epping and North Weald railway stations during the Epping Ongar Railway's 150th Anniversary weekend event.
The B181 was once the A122 between Epping and Chipping Ongar.
