Old Milestone by the A1023, Chelmsford Road, Brentwood
Stone post (plate lost) by the A1023 (was A12), in parish of BRENTWOOD (BRENTWOOD District), Chelmsford Road, Shenfield, opposite No. 179, by the road, on North side of road. Erected by the Essex Second District turnpike trust in the 19th century.
Inscription reads:-

Carved bench mark on West face.
Grade II listed.
