Old Milepost by the A550, Welsh Road, south of Hooton
Cast iron post by the A550, in parish of Ellesmere Port (Ellesmere Port and Neston District), South of Mayfield, on the verge back to metal railings, on East side of road. Cast iron CCC1898, erected by the County Council in the 19th century.

The Welsh Road (A550) at the junction of Heath Lane, Childer Thornton. As a child, I knew we were really going on holiday when we got on this road, a fast, country road heading straight for the Welsh border.
