Dee Marshes
Salt marshes at the end of Marshlands road where previously the river brought ships to the nearby ports. Close to this spot was Wirral colliery which ceased production in 1928.

Neston - Dee marshes at Old Quay
Neston (Old Quay): sandstone stile onto the Dee Marshes. This is more or less at the site of the old Quay House. The Old Quay was built in the mid 16th century as an alternative to Chester as the Dee silted up. By the beginning of the 18th century the Old Quay had silted up in its turn and was replaced by Parkgate, which by the beginning of the 19th century ... (well you get the picture!).
