Seacombe Station
View westwards, towards Seacombe Junction, Bidston and Wrexham; terminus of ex-Great Central line from Bidston and Wrexham. The station was closed 4/1/60 and since then the service has run southwards from Bidston. The locomotive in view is a LMS Ivatt 2MT 2-6-2T that had worked in on a service from Wrexham.

Zeebrugge Memorial
This memorial, to the Royal Marines and Royal Navy, and in particular the Ferries Iris & Daffodil, situated near to the Seacombe Terminal, is attended each year, close to St.Georges Day when the battle took place.

Going for an ice cream on Seacombe Promenade
The crowds on Seacombe Promenade were waiting in the sunshine for Queen Mary 2 to arrive in the river, and the ice cream van was another welcome arrival. In the background is the huge ventilation structure for the Kingsway road tunnel.

Mersey Tunnel Ventilation Shaft
This strange structure is the massive ventilation shaft for the second Mersey tunnel, at either side are the air intakes for the tunnel. The Kingsway Tunnel, started in 1966 and opened by Queen Elizabeth II in June 1971, is a twin tube tunnel, each "tube" has two traffic lanes twelve feet wide (compared to nine feet wide in the Queensway Tunnel) and is slightly under two miles in length.
