Woodside Ventilator, Pacific Road, Birkenhead (1)
The Mersey Tunnel ventilator towers are a magnificent set of structures - functional, visually stunning and emblematic of the different eras in which they were built. This one was built c1931. The architect was Herbert Rowse. The mass of brick is dotted with decorative details (Image]). Grade II listed.

Morpeth Dock Entrance, Birkenhead
At the former dock entrance, the lock gate is still in situ. The tall building is one of the Queensway road tunnel ventilation towers. To the right is a water treatment plant.
