40 Clifton Road, Birkenhead
Clifton Park was one of the swankier developments spurred on by the creation of Birkenhead Park, laid out by Walter Scott from the early 1840s. Scott designed many of its villas. This was originally one of a pair. Grade II listed.

Birkenhead Central Library
This was opened in 1934 by King George V. The road in the foreground is Borough Road, one of the main ones in Birkenhead. This particular area used to be known as "Happy Valley" - I'm not sure why... but there was a pub of the same name nearby. Borough Road, incidentally, used to be a river.

27 Clifton Road, Birkenhead
Clifton Park was one of the swankier developments spurred on by the creation of Birkenhead Park, laid out by Walter Scott from the early 1840s. Scott designed many of its villas. Grade II listed. No. 27 was remodelled c1845 for its present use as a masonic temple.
