Shocklach Castle, Castletown
Shocklach Castle is a 13th century D-shaped moated enclosure, possibly a later adaptation of the original bailey. It could have been for a fortified manor house. The earlier 12th century motte is situated on the opposite side of the road and is covered in trees.

Old Milepost by the former B5130 in Church Shocklach
Cast iron post by the UC road (was B5130), in parish of Church Shocklach (Chester District), South of Castletown Rough, on the verge back to hedge, on West side of road. Cast iron CCC1898, erected by the County Council in the 19th century.
Inscription reads:-
