Eternal Memory
Obelisk erected in 1888 to the memory of George Marsh (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Marsh_(martyr) ), who was burnt alive in the Marian terror on April 24th 1555. After the execution, the bishop of Chester concluded: 'Marsh was a heretic, burnt as such, and is a firebrand in hell.'
