Upton Mill
Built in 1775, Upton Mill was a full working flour mill, it lost its sails in the early 1920's but was still a working bakery in the first half of the 20th century selling bread and cakes to local residents. In the 1950's the buildings fell into a state of disrepair, many having already been demolished but in 1979 the mill itself was put on the market for conversion into a private dwelling and remains so until this day. Wealstone Lane, Upton, Chester
This corner on Wealstone Lane at the junction with Weston Grove, shows a good example of the type of fences that you see on corners throughout Cheshire. These metal fences, painted black and white, allow drivers to see any traffic coming towards them as they approach a bend.
