Coal train at Llanbradach
Class 66 locomotive No. 66190 passes Llanbradach station with a loaded coal train from Cwmbargoed to Margam. It is passing beneath the historic station footbridge, which was recently closed as a result of being struck by a machine during track maintenance work.

Damage to Llanbradach station footbridge
The Grade II listed footbridge at Llanbradach station, built by the Rhymney Railway Company in the late 19th century, was stuck by a track maintenance machine in February 2022, sustaining the damage seen here. The bridge has been shut to pedestrians and the walkway boards removed. The future of the bridge is unknown, but it is hoped that it can be repaired.
