Industrial Development at Barry
The nearer buildings belong to Hexion Speciality Chemicals. The large chimney and associated buildings are Centrica's gas fired power station. Through a donation to a re-afforestation project in Brasil, Centrica claim to have offset all the CO2 which the station will produce during its life.

Entrance to Barry Power Station
Viewed across Sully Moors Road near the Sully boundary. AES Corporation built this 235 megawatt gas CCGT (combined cycle gas turbine) power station, which opened in September 1998. In July 2003 the power station was bought by Centrica Energy for £39 million.
