Cadoxton House, Barry
Viewed from the corner of Vere Street and Little Moors Hill, Cadoxton. Cadoxton House is a community support centre. Several years ago, plans to refurbish the old Cadoxton House on this site were abandoned after a survey found that the building was structurally unsafe. Plans for a new building, similar in design to the old house, were then drawn up. Construction of the new building seen here was completed in early September 2011. Here's http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1917897 a view taken in June 2010.

Two warning signs, Little Moors Hill, Cadoxton, Barry
The larger sign warns that a 12' 9" headroom arch bridge is 120 yards (llath in Welsh) ahead.
The smaller sign warns would-be offenders that the Vale of Glamorgan is
a ZERO Tolerance Area - We are STAMPING OUT all environmental crimes -
NO to cigarette ends, NO to street litter, NO to dog fouling.
The same message is shown in Welsh.

Victoria Park Road, Cadoxton
Looking east along the edge of Victoria Park.
An interesting relic of Barry's past is on the right edge of the photo. It is the remains of a gas street light. The inscription on the base reads "The Sanitary Supply Corporation Limited London & Birmingham."
I was surprised at 'sanitary' : it appears that (some of?) Barry's gas lights used sewer gas, not town gas.
Update. A correspondent informed me that in January 2011 "The gas lamp was knocked down by a lorry and the council has taken it away - never to be seen again."
