Viewed in November 2016. Main Street has been modernised in recent years. A 2008 Google Earth Street View shows several derelict premises in this area, and a general rundown appearance.

The Mind Shop is at 92 Main Street. The Mind in the Vale of Glamorgan website states that this is one of their two charity shops. The other one is in Llantwit Major. The shops are a great source of unrestricted income for the organisation. All the money raised goes directly back into the frontline services they provide across the Vale of Glamorgan. The shops are supported by the local communities, with regular donations and local people running each shop. Both the shops offer voluntary placements to help people with their recovery journey and also appeals to anyone who has time to volunteer.

The Vale of Glamorgan Council building is set back from Church Road near Cadoxton Nursery School and Cadoxton Primary School. The hall has a capacity of 220 people for dances or 405 people seated.

Built in 2010, Cwrt Hortop is a Newydd Housing Association development on the south side of Main Street, Cadoxton. It was named after the late Fred Hortop, who was a depth charge operator on the destroyer HMS Hesperus in the Second World War. After the war, he spent more than five years compiling a detailed roll of honour in memory of the merchant seamen of Barry who died during the two world wars. During both wars the British Merchant Service suffered heavy losses from German U-boat attacks. London's Imperial War Museum has recognised the Barry Merchant Navy Roll of Honour in the UK National Inventory of War Memorials, largely because of the efforts of Fred's brother George to get it national recognition. Fred Hortop died in 2006.
