Rhoose level crossing - barriers down
About three minutes before this photo was taken, the barriers came down. A group of young people then arrived on the left side, and were concerned that they would miss the train, now approaching Rhoose Cardiff Airport International station.
The person on the other side of the crossing reassured them that they would have time to catch the train. And so it was - a few seconds after the train had cleared the crossing, the barriers rose and no-one missed the train.
The more typical scene is with barriers up.

Rhoose Cardiff International Airport railway station platform for westbound trains
My ticket showed RHOOSE (CDF AIR). The full name of the station is far too long to fit in the available space on the ticket! The station, opened in 2005, is on the Vale of Glamorgan line from Cardiff Central to Bridgend via Barry and Llantwit Major. A shuttle bus service operates to and from the airport terminal building.
This platform is for westbound services. Eastbound services use the platform behind the camera, beyond a level crossing.
