Bloated Collared Doves
Having commandeered the bird food this pair continue to hog the feeder and bask in the sunshine. Perhaps they should be mindful that Sparrow Hawks regularly patrol here and with laden crops they will be even less of a match for a surprise attacker!

Common House Spider
We have all seen large spiders in houses at one time or another but this specimen was disturbed from among a pile of stones in a garden. She was pretty big but without demands to 'Get that thing out of the house!' a photographic opportunity presented itself.

Pied Wagtail - Llantwit Major
In my opinion a female in its first winter. It is quite easy, and perhaps I have done it here, to confuse the White nominate race of the species with the sub-species that we more commonly encounter in the UK. It is only in relatively recent years that records of the 'White' variety have been readily accepted and I well remember how my early records of 'White's' were treated with scorn!
